Molo’s goal and vision is to incorporate more responsible materials that are durable for the long term. That’s why it is incredibly important for us at Molo that most of our materials used in production are certified and approved by international standards.
_____
For us, the use of sustainable materials means materials that have the smallest possible impact on the environment, have a long life and with time, when facilities evolve, can be recycled again and again after repetive long-term use.
Our current sustainable fabrics are certified organic cotton, certified recycled polyester and nylon as well as viscose extracted from FSC-certified trees produced in a closed system. Our fabric strategy is constantly developing as new and innovative solutions become available. For us, it’s not a question of just being satisfied, but it’s about constantly questioning the process and being willing to welcome new developments. This way, we challenge ourselves to keep searching for better solutions in order to expand our brand in a sustainable direction.
Fabric certification and standards
Global certification and standards provide transparency, responsibility and quality throughout the value chain. That’s why it is very important for Molo that the majority of all materials used in Molo products are certified or approved by international standards. For us, this is essential since we are constantly striving to choose materials with the smallest possible impact on humans and the environment. Read about our goals here HERE.
Molo clothing includes the following clothing certification and standards:
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard): GOTS is the most globally recognised certification of organic textiles. This certificate ensures that the product is produced with organic fibres and that no harmful chemicals were used. In addition, it ensures that all the people involved in the process were working under fair conditions. GOTS covers everything from harvest, preparation, production and manufacturing to packaging and branding. GOTS doesn’t just make a difference for you as a consumer, it also ensures fair and safe working conditions for the people involved in the production process, by giving them access to unions and a living wage- not just minimum wage. Read more about GOTS HERE.
OCS (The Organic Content Standard): The largest part of the cotton used in Molo’s production is organic, and most of the organic cotton we use is GOTS*-certified. A large part of the rest of our cotton products are certified under OCS*. This is a third-party verification standard, where OCS100* relates to products with 95-100% organic materials. This verifies the presence and amount of organic materials in the finished product and follows the journey of the raw materials from harvest to finished product.

GRS (Global Recycle Standard): The Molo brand is GRS-certified. GRS is a voluntary, international product standard that requires third-party certification of recycled materials. The standard looks at the entire value chain and covers everything from raw materials to the finished product. This ensures that all products that contain recycled materials also comply with environmental considerations, chemical restrictions and demands for social responsibility.

ECO-VERO by Lenzing: A large part of Molo’s viscose products are now extracted by LENZING™ ECOVERO™. Viscose from LENZING™ ECOVERO™ is made from wood that has a certified sustainable origin. It is governed by strict rules about sustainability, FCS-approved wood, low CO2 emission, and a high degree of transparency in the supply chain. LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibre is certified by the organic EU flower symbol and complies with the high environmental requirements throughout the entire value chain- from raw materials, development, production to distribution. Oeko-Tex Standard 100: This is a global label that ensures a high level of effective product safety because you are assured that the certified products contain no problematic chemicals that are harmful to your health.
